I first joined in 2021 and it was a huge game changer for me! I met and developed so many friendships with amazing women who have the same interests and later became a Puyallup, WA Chapter A-teamer.
Started interning as an apprentice/intern instructor for Ladies First Firearm Training in 2023 and learned from some of the best instructors out there as I started my instructor journey!
After a 2 day basic pistol course and then a 3 day pistol instructor certification course, I achieved my goal of becoming a certified firearms instructor.
Shortly after my instructor certification, I also became a certified Range Safety Officer.
I wanted to challenge myself and really dive into the world of competitive shooting, so I started competing in matches for Action Shooting International (ASI).
Shooting is a dangerous sport and I am dedicated to making sure IF anything were to ever happen that my students and myself are in good hands in the case of an emergency, so I took my STB certification.
During the A Girl & A Gun 2025 National Conference I had the opportunity to learn from AJ Zito with Practical Performance in his Performance of Presentation class. He is an absolutely amazing national instructor!
Also during the A Girl & A Gun 2025 National Conference I took an awesome class around competitive shooting from Craig Outzen who is a nationally recognized IPSC and multi-gun competitor sponsored by many well known brands.
Another amazing class by Wayne Dobbs, a retired veteran of Richardson, TX Police Department and is an instructor teaching military firearms combat and law enforcement firearms training (currently with PTG Training) I learned some master drills to use for students to help with trigger and grip control during classes and lessons.
Another great class at the 2025 National Conference conducted by Mike Hughes, the creator of the SIRT Dry Fire Pistol. We learned about the best methods for teaching stance, grip, and sight alignment fundamentals for defensive shooting.
After several matches with ASI, I decided to challenge myself even more and joined the
A huge opportunity to participate in the AG&AG Leadership Red Dot Retreat where we got to learn from AJ Zito AGAIN specific to red dot fundamentals. I highly recommend taking one of his firearms training clinics!
Brian Hill, another nationally recognized firearms instructor, was also an instructor at the AG&AG Leadership Red Dot Retreat and he taught us from the instructors standpoint with many amazing instructor drills to use for our students.
Lead by Tatiana Whitlock, the Director of Training for the A Girl & A Gun Shooting League. The certification focused on understanding and TEACHING the red dot to our students and league members.
As part of the AG&AG Leadership Red Dot Retreat training clinic, we learned from Mike Ox (owner and creator of Red Dot Mastery) where he taught us about the ins and outs of working with a red dot from the neurological standpoint.
